Poor diet, lack of exercise, added stress, and exposure to toxins in the environment are the perfect storm for chronic disease.

However, we have a lot of power over our lifestyle, which means we can avoid most of this needless suffering. Things like stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer can be dramatically lowered according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

According to the CDC:

“Health risk behaviors are unhealthy behaviors you can change. Four of these health risk behaviors—lack of exercise or physical activity, poor nutrition, tobacco use, and drinking too much alcohol—cause much of the illness, suffering, and early death related to chronic diseases and conditions.”

Eating organic, whole healthy foods, regular exercise, and avoiding things like sugar, alcohol, and smoking will skyrocket your health!

The good news is that we discovered a potent combination of 3 foods that will boost your health, vision, and help heal your liver.

Carrot Benefits

Yes, carrots improve the health of our eyes, we have all heard this. But how?

Vitamin A (which is contained in carrots) helps the eye convert light into a signal that can be transmitted to the brain, and if we don’t get enough Vitamin A the cornea can literally disappear, according to Emily Chew, deputy clinical director at the National Eye Institute.

Beet Benefits

  • Cleanses the liver
  • Boosts brain function
  • Loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatories
  • Improves circulation
  • Balances blood pressure
  • Boost of energy

Orange Benefits

You get 130& of your vitamin C daily needs, which helps everything in your body. There also a compound in oranges that protects you from stroke, according to the American Heart Association.

  • 2 organic carrots
  • 1 organic beet
  • 4 organic oranges

  1. Add the ingredients to the juicer (we recommend this).
  2. Serve immediately.

Drink this once a day the 1st thing when you wake in the morning on an empty stomach.

It will also help keep your colon clean and running optimally.

Native American PROPHECY Of The COLLAPSE of AMERICA Is Dead-On!

Native American PROPHECY Of The COLLAPSE of AMERICA Is Dead-On!

The following clips are from the Hopi Elders describing the eventual destruction and almost near eradication of nearly 80 million native Americans. His diagnosis of the terminally ill United States is so simple but cuts to the core. All morals and values have been subverted to create a nihilistic empire collapsing under it’s own corruption and ego.
They make no bones about the arrival of the Europeans as the “beginning of the end” of their culture thus giving rise to a dysfunctional society that is doomed by their own greed and malfeasance.

This is a short clip, please listen. Thank you.

Having trouble remembering things?

These medications may be real cause. In the past, doctors dismissed mental confusion and memory loss as a part of the aging process.

However, today scientists know that memory loss as we get older is not inevitable. In fact, the brain can grow new cells and reshape their connection during the life.

Many people are aware of the numerous things that may impair memory, like drug and alcohol abuse, head injuries, strikes, heavy smoking, severe stress, sleep deprivation, lack of vitamin B12, or illnesses, such as: Alzheimer’s.

However, what many people do not know that some prescribed drugs can also affect memory.

Unluckily, the number one death cause in the United States is adverse drug reactions. In fact, prescription drugs cause more than 100.000 deaths a year, and over 1.5 million hospitalized patients, who experienced adverse drug effects.

The prescription drugs, which cause numerous cognitive health issues, including memory loss, are divided into three categories. Here they are.

1. Statin drugs

Statin drugs are used to regulate high cholesterol levels even though are dangerous drugs, which lead to brain damage.

When it comes to this, ¼ of the brain is made of cholesterol, which is essential for memory, learning and thinking. However, it is considered that statin drugs have side effects and lead to memory loss.

2. Sleeping pills

Sleeping pills usually cause memory loss and lead to a state, like being drunk or in a coma. For this reason, they do not regulate the sleep needed to the body to recover itself.

For example, Ambien, a well-known drug, is also known as an amnesia drug, because it causes night terrors, hallucinations, sleep driving and sleep walking.

3. ‘Anti’ drugs

The anti drugs, including antispasmodics, antipsychotics, antihypertensive, antidepressants, antibiotics, antihistamines and other, affect the levels of acetylcholine in the human body, the main neurotransmitter essential for learning and memory.

The low levels of acetylcholine in the body lead to blurred vision, hallucinations, mental confusion, delirium, dementia, memory loss, and other health issues. Drugs that block the effects of acetylcholine are known as anticholinergic. Some of the most common side effects of anticholinergics are:

• Dry mouth
• Blurred vision
• Confusion
• Lightheartedness
• Loss of bladder control
• Constipation
• Difficulty to urinate

The former vice chairman of the Department of Psychiatry, Richard C. Mohs, made a list of 20 drugs, which lead to memory loss. Here is the whole list.

• Steroids
• Antihistamines – Dimetane, Clistin, Tavist, Vistaril and Benadryl.
• Lithium
• Methyldopa
• Naproxen
• Antidepressants – Vivactil, Elavil, Anafranil, Norpramin, Pamelor, and Surmontil.
• Interferons
• High blood pressure drugs
• Beta blockers (particularly those used for glaucoma)
• Quinidine
• Insulin
• Benzodiazepines – Ativan, Dalmane, Librium, Klonopin, Doral, Versed, Restoril, Valium and Xanax.
• Parkinson’s disease – scopolamine, glycopyrrolate, and atropine.
• Antipsychotics – Haldol and Mellaril.
• Barbiturates – Amytal, Seconal, Phenobarbital and Nembutal.
• Epilepsy – Phenytoin and Dilantin.
• Chemotherapy drugs
• Antibiotics (quinolones)
• Painkillers – heroin, codeine and morphine.
• Sleeping pills – Sonata, Lunesta and Ambien.

If you take some of these drugs, you should consult a doctor in order to find out if they affect your memory. There is always a healthier choice, or even another medication.

You should take more food supplements, be more physically active, and include healthy food in your diet in order to enhance brain health.

Not only prescribed medication cause memory loss. Some popular over-the-counter (OTC) drugs lead to memory loss by blocking the action of the acetylcholine neurotransmitter.

Here is a list of 12 popular OTC, which are anticholinergic:

• Zantac (acid reflux)
• Unisom (insomnia)
• Tylenol PM (insomnia and pain)
• Tagamet (acid reflux)
• Sominex (insomnia)
• Pepcid Ac (acid reflux)
• Nytol (insomnia)
• Excedrin PM (insomnia and pain)
• Dramamine (motion sickness)
• Claritin (allergies)
• Benadryl (allergies
• Advil PM ( sleep and pain)

Numerous studies have shown that OTCs medications, such as: Benadryl, increase the risk of experiencing Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Wes Studi On His Cherokee Nation Childhood And How He Discovered Acting

Wes Studi On His Cherokee Nation Childhood And How He Discovered Acting

He grew up in the Cherokee Nation in eastern Oklahoma, where Cherokees have lived since the Trail of Tears. Just over a century later, Studi was born in a valley called Nofire Hollow, where he also spent his childhood.

The new film Hostiles tells the story of a U.S. Army captain in the Old West circa 1892. He’s spent decades fighting Native Americans and seeing his friends killed, and he’s ordered to commit an act of humanitarian relief. The bitter veteran, played by Christian Bale, is tasked with escorting an old Cheyenne chief, played by Wes Studi, back to his home valley to die.

In the film, Studi only speaks a few words of English. His character’s most powerful moments come when he conveys meaning with a gesture or expression.

Studi, 70, is himself Cherokee. He was a Vietnam veteran and a Native American rights activist before he found roles, usually playing Native Americans, in films like Dances With Wolves and The Last Of The Mohicans.

“In the beginning, we were pretty much subsistence farmers and hunters,” he says. “As a child, I remember going into town by wagon one time and it was an all-day journey.”

We didn’t have electricity, but we did have relatives who lived above and beyond the hollow that we lived in. They were one of the first families in the area, in the Cherokee Nation, to have electricity. And that was the first time I ever saw television, was when I was maybe 4 years old or thereabouts. And what we did was we trekked 5, 6 miles up from our home to our cousin’s home to watch Saturday night wrestling. Yeah, that was the first that we ever encountered electricity and television and what we consider, you know, part of the modern world these days.

It was kind of a combination of the aftereffect of Vietnam in a way, in that — I won’t say I was addicted or a junkie of adrenaline — but, you know, I tried a number of fairly dangerous things just to kick that off in my brain again. You know, it’s something that I’m afraid I got too used to it perhaps. … I tried bull-riding. … I wasn’t good at all, I don’t think I ever got eight seconds anywhere.

But then after that, I discovered acting through community theater. And what I saw in community theater was you could learn your lines and do rehearsals and all of that, but finally opening night shows up and you’re in the wings and I rediscovered that huge wall of fear. And to me, that provided that amount of excitement and adrenaline rush.

At times, you’re welcome, depending on what’s being cast. Dances with Wolves — they wanted authentic-looking Indians in the film, and so they got it. The same was true with The Last of the Mohicans and Geronimo.

And I think audiences have begun to wonder more about these characters than just the antagonist part of most Indian films. We were the threat … in many movies. But [at] that time, filmmakers were beginning to think that “Wow, well, maybe we can find some real Indians to do this rather than, like, brown-facing actors.” And so it formed a curiosity by the public to see: “So they’re really here still yet, huh? So the genocide we tried on them didn’t work? They’re still around — and trying to get into the movie business.”

6 Clear Signs You’re an Old Soul and Might Not Know It.

6 Clear Signs You’re an Old Soul and Might Not Know It.

There are many people in our lives who are old souls, you may even be one of them. They are wise beyond what their physical appearance or actual age let on and their innate knowledge has given them a very developed understanding of the world. They are often quieter, preferring to observe and learn from a distance, while internalizing the lessons and all of the experiences they go through in life.

Old souls radiate a certain frequency that is peaceful and stable, they are naturally calming to be around. Many believe that they have acquired their wisdom from the past lives they’ve led and that through this they’ve been gifted with an enlightened view of the complex world we live in.

As it follows, old souls both experience and see things differently and this sets them apart from what everyone else goes through. In turn, they also do things differently and here are some of the ways in which this shows:

1. Old souls travel their own path through life:
They are not followers in any sense of the word and never do what may be expected of them. The typical goals and materialistic inclinations of life are of no interest to them. Instead of success and power, they are after self-realizations and happiness. That’s why they’re often more connected, spiritual, and grounded.

2. Old souls have only a few true lifelong friends:
They often have difficulty connecting with people around their age because they aren’t interested in many of the things those people do or talk about. Rather, they gravitate towards a select few friends who are able to truly understand them and their intense nature. They don’t waste their time getting to know people that they just cannot relate to and it can be said that old souls look for friends whom they see as kindred souls.

3. Old souls have an unquenchable thirst for learning:
Their passion for all things intellectual and informative is clear from the get-go. They love critical thinking and any experiences they go through they will examine in depth to extract important life lessons from them. For an old soul, knowledge brings happiness and power. Having their thoughts challenged is what they live for.

4. Old souls adjust to new situations and surroundings with ease:
They don’t like to stand out or make a scene and prefer to hang back and observe. While they aren’t anti-social per se, they do view themselves as a sort of misunderstood social outcast. Their natural curiosity leads them to ask many questions and from this deeper conversations follow. However, if talk turns idle or superficial, they immediately lose interest. If they’re unable to steer it back to more meaningful topics, they will simply end it abruptly and move on.

5. Old souls look beyond the mundane:
They filter out the basic everyday details that tend to cloud the thoughts and minds of everyone else. Their vision is clear and uncompromised by material things or selfish vanity, which they see as senseless and unproductive. Instead of being focused on the here and now, they look right past it, way down the line into the future. Thinking far ahead about all of the possibilities, or the consequences of ones actions, is what gives them a wider perspective and understanding of the world beyond the present.

6. Old souls are spiritual:
This doesn’t mean they are religious devotees, or even a part of any organized religion. Instead, they are more in tune with a variety of ancient rituals and traditions which by practicing brings them happiness. Old souls are always seeking enlightenment through knowledge, and spirituality both encompasses and fulfills a major part of this.

Which banana would you choose? Your response may affect your health

Which banana would you choose? Your response may affect your health

When you eat a banana, you do it because: a) you like the taste, b) you know it’s good for you, c) someone gave you one or d), all of the above.

Bananas are packed with vitamins and other nutrients, and eating two a day can do wonders for your body.

But did you know that the color of a banana can reveal a lot about its nutritional content? From green to brown, firm to soft, spots or no spots — a banana’s appearance can tell a lot.

  1. Unripe and green

Gröna bananer

Green bananas are hard to digest unless they’re cooked. But once cooked, they taste like potatoes and are quite delicious. People who are familiar with Caribbean cuisine know that green bananas are used in many dishes there.

But what you might not know, however, is that green bananas have a low glycemic index value — perfect for people who need to monitor their sugar intake.

Another good thing about unripe bananas is they provide the the stomach with probiotics, which also strengthens the immune system. And in addition, green bananas also contain resistant starch, a form of carbohydrates that improves insulin sensitivity and lowers blood sugar levels.

Because of their starch content, green bananas keep you feeling full for a long time and are helpful if you’re trying to losing weight. Boil them, mash them, or fry them.

The downside? Green bananas have fewer antioxidants than more mature bananas, as the antioxidants in bananas increase as the fruits ripen.

2.Firm and yellow

Most of us prefer our bananas yellow but not quite spotted. At this stage, bananas are sweet and ripe. Pale yellow bananas contain a lot of antioxidants that protect the body from diseases, aging, ailments, and heart problems.

A medium-sized ripe banana also provides 37 mg of magnesium, an important mineral that helps the brain stay fit.

weet, tasty and packed with antioxidants, spotted bananas pack a punch when it comes to fighting diseases.

The more brown spots a banana has, the more mature it is and the more tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors it contains. TNF inhibitors are cell signaling proteins that fight cancer and abnormal cells in the body, but more research is needed in this area. A Japanese study from 2008 showed that spotted bananas produce this substance.

If you have a sensitive stomach, you’ll find overripe bananas easy to digest, but because they’re sweeter, they’re not great for diabetics or anyone who needs to watch their sugar intake.

Admittedly, not many people like eating brown bananas. But if you want to save some cash, you can usually get some good discounts on overripe bananas. Buy some and put them in a smoothie or make some banana bread.

When bananas are brown, they’re very sweet and have a high concentration of antioxidants. They’re also easy on the stomach and perfect if you have stomachache. You just need to make sure to eat brown bananas before they rot!

However ripe you like your bananas to be, they all have these benefits in common:

They contain the amino acid tryptophan, a substance that converts into serotonin in the body. Serotonin is a signaling substance that is commonly referred to as the body’s happiness hormone.

While bananas contain some sodium, they are also rich in potassium, which protects the heart.

They contain high levels of vitamin B6, which some researchers believe helps relieve the symptoms of PMS.

The fruit also contains three natural sugars — sucrose, fructose and glucose — in combination with fiber.

Since bananas lose some of their nutrients as they age, you can put them in the fridge to slow down their ripening process. Enjoy bananas in the morning, afternoon, or in the evening and discover the positive impact they can have on your health!

Please share this article so that more people learn how healthy bananas really are!

Incredible footage shows a starfish ‘walking’ on a beach in North Carolina

Incredible footage shows a starfish ‘walking’ on a beach in North Carolina

Since time immemorial, we have been fascinated by the strange, the abnormal and the downright bizarre.

Perhaps this has something to do with the human spirit for exploration and delving into the unknown, perhaps it is more rudimentary; in a world of nearly seven and a half billion people, all of whom are relatively similar, we are starving for something a little bit different.

While some people are born with differences in their physical appearance that render them ‘unusual’ looking in comparison to the majority, others choose to enhance or alter their appearance though plastic surgery, possibly in a bid to stand out from the crowd, or merely to satisfy an instinct they have felt all of their lives.

Even in the animal kingdom, we remain fascinated with creatures that differ from the norm; the rarer the better, the more alien and strange looking, the stronger our preoccupation.

When it comes to the surreal, the ocean pretty much takes the biscuit; creatures of the deep are often terrifying, other-wordly looking specimens not immediately reconcilable with what we might consider Earth dwelling beings.

Whether some sinister fish lurking deep beneath the ocean’s surface, or a creature in circumstances we wouldn’t normally associate with their natural behavioural patterns; a fish out of water, if you will, we lap it up in morbid curioisity.

altCredit: YouTube

Take, for example, the astonishing footage that recently emerged of a starfish “walking” along a beach in Corolla, North Carolina.

Far outside of its comfort zone, the creature was witnessed painstakingly making its way across the sandy shore by Zeb Hallock, who captured footage of the bizarre scene before safely returning the creature to the watery habitat from whence it came.

The starfish is seen using the multiple fur-like cilia on the underside of its frame to make its way over the sand, as Hallock describes the scene;

“We noticed there were starfish walking around on the sand near the water.

“Some were in tide pools but some were just strolling on the sand, very very very slowly.

altCredit: YouTube

“The ones that were on the sand we carefully relocated back to the ocean or a tide pool.

“Other people coming out to the beach were fascinated by the large amount of starfish and helped relocate the walkers to the water as well.”

Though the footage was shot some time ago, in October 2012, it was only uploaded to Facebook extremely recently, and has quickly garnered millions of views as internet users everywhere marvel at the strange phenomenon.

It’s safe to say the Hallock’s footage has made a splash, with viewer comments ranging from “Did not know they have feet!” to “THANK YOU! Those poor things would have never been able to survive if they hadn’t have helped!”.

It’s a bizarre sight that many probably would have never seen if it wasn’t for Hallock’s footage, and with the starfish returned to the ocean, there’s smiles all round at the end of this story.

Meet the dogs helping to convict criminals in court

Meet the dogs helping to convict criminals in court

For even the bravest of adults, the idea of testifying in court can be a scary prospect. Having to recount a terrifying or distressing experience in the most minute of details in front of complete strangers, to have invasive questions asked of you by someone you’ve never met, to face down the person the across the room that has caused all of this hurt, often while surrounded by that person’s supporters. And all of this in an unfamiliar environment, filled with complex jargon.

For a child, however, the prospect of attending court must be even more terrifying. No matter how strong the power of their favourite teddy bear is, there are times when a cuddly toy just won’t cut it. Instead, authorities in America have turned to a different kind of comforter – real dogs – to help soothe and reassure children taking to the witness box. Known as “comfort dogs”, these specially trained canines are being used in the most complex and traumatising of cases involving children, including sexual and physical abuse, both in initial interviews and in court.

The use of dogs in a therapeutic manner is nothing new. Across the world, schools, care homes and hospitals are using animals – even llamas in some places – in increasing frequency to help individuals to process their emotions and reduce anxiety. However, there is a difference between “therapy dogs” and “courthouse dogs”, in that the latter have been intentionally bred and socialised with high-pressure situations in mind, and must pass a higher level of public access test.

On their website, the Courthouse Dogs Foundation, who connect legal professionals with access to dogs, draw attention to various cases where dogs have helped to secure convictions by comforting children; these include with a group of seven-year-old girls who had been sexually assaulted and “cried and absolutely refused to sit in the witness chair” at trial, and a five-year-old boy who, having witnessed numerous incidences of domestic abuse which culminated in his father savagely assaulting and threatening to kill his mother, was too scared to testify in court. While dogs are predominantly used in cases involving children, they have also been used with adults where mental health and disabilities are a concern.

In order to get the most out of courthouse dogs, children taking to the stand are encouraged to meet them multiple times before the trial to allow them bond with their canine companion. This not only includes engaging in playful interactions but also practising for the moments where the dog must remain still while the child holds a conversation. This process also allows the dogs, who are regarded as exceptionally emotionally intelligent, to better know the witness and sense when they may need more, or even less, support.

At present, there are over 130 such dogs, mostly Labradors and golden retrievers, working across 34 states. While many work on a case-by-case basis, Idaho is one of those where the right to a courtroom dog is enshrined, thanks to a ruling in July 2017: “It’s not an easy situation for a child to testify against someone that might be their parent or family member,” commented Republican state Sen. Shawn Keough, adding that “To allow a facility dog at the witness stand seemed like a humane thing to do.”

But that is not to say that the scheme does not have its detractors; some argue that having a friendly dog in court, sat next to a cute child, prejudices the jury into an assumption of innocence and truthfulness on the part of the witness: “Nobody knows how juries will be influenced by this,” said John Ensminger, a defence attorney, who has written on the impact of service dogs, “It may be that if you get enough ‘dog people’ on a jury, you’re going to increase your chances of conviction.”

A view of a United States court building

Despite Ensminger’s worries, there are guidelines governing the conduct of courtroom dogs, most relevant being the fact that dogs must be as unobtrusive as possible, staying laid down out of sight of the jury and moving only when necessary. Some defence lawyers also argue that the presence of dogs in a courtroom can also work in a defendant’s favour, in that distressed children will naturally invoke a greater level of sympathy from the jury.

Courtroom dogs may already be common practice in the US, Canada and Chile, but in the UK they are welcome only so far as the court waiting room, and this service is provided by charities rather than regulated providers. With the British court system more likely to use recorded evidence, or live link into courts, for child witnesses, there is perhaps less requirement for their introduction, but that said, surely anything that we can do to make the court process kinder for victims of abuse and assault – child or adult – has got to be worth considering. For now though, man’s best friend will continue to make new, little friends in courts across America by supporting, comforting, and really just looking so very cute.

Incredible footage shows man pulling over to save rabbit from California wildfires

The flames that are spreading throughout Southern California, known as the Thomas fire, have already caused extensive damage to the area and are showing no signs of abating yet. The wildfire has covered over tens of thousands of acres so far, with some homes being burnt to the ground and many forced to leave the area.

A state of emergency has been declared, with mass evacuations and road closures affecting those in the state. Apparently, over 100,000 people in the region have fled, and hundreds of schools have been forced to close down because of the wildfire. Extreme winds add to the danger, spreading the flames across forest areas faster than usual.

Seeing as California is the hub of the film and television industries, the entertainment and dramas shot there will surely be affected in some way. A number of productions have already been put on hold, such as HBO’s Westworld, which is currently developing its second season.

Fire officials have issued a statement on the fire today, stating that:

“Our big variable tonight is the wind, and the wind is expected to pick up in some places to 70 miles an hour – that’s hurricane force winds.”

“That can drive a fire in a way that is unimaginable to most of us. So please, take this serious, pack a bag, be ready to go.”
The Los Angeles Police Department issued a phone alert to those in the vicinity, warning residents in LA and the surrounding areas to be aware of the risk that fire strong winds bring. The mayor, Eric Garcetti, gave thanks to firefighters from the city as well as other agencies, saying that “these are days that break your heart, but these are also days that show the resilience of our city.”

It was amidst this chaotic blaze, which NBC Los Angeles reported has scorched a total of 83,000 acres already, that one man took the time and risk to save an animal that had no clue what was happening, and surely would have died if left to its own devices.

The video was broadcast by RMG News after another motorist captured the video, which shows a man saving a wild rabbit from the flames. The man, who has chosen to remain unnamed, spotted a terrified rabbit on the edge of Highway 1, seemingly heading straight into the flames. Luckily, he managed to catch him just in time. You can see the amazing video below:

You can understand the confusion of the people watching him, as he seems to stumble around fearfully and eventually pull the distressed creature from the flames. It’s a beautiful reveal after the first few seconds of the video make him look a bit mad.

The cameraman who filmed the event said that he saw the man pull his car over to save the rabbit, but afterward declined a request for an on-camera interview. So you can add “humble” to the list of words to describe this heroic individual.
